Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commission- ers Morgenstern, Branson and Breon and City Attorney Norris responded. Commis- sioners Ferm and Price absent. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Breon (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Ferm and Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-143. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and fixing the salaries of certain officers and employees of the City of aalina and repealing certain ordinances and parts thereof." On motion of Commissioner Bruon the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followng vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Breon. (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Ferm and Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5007. Commissioner Breon moved that Robert A. V�allace, L. F. Stephenson and Cleve D. Miller be appointed as members of the Local Tire Rationing Board of the City of Salina. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Breon and upon vote being taken, motion was carried by unanimous vote by Commissioners present, and such persons were by the Board of Commissionrs duly appointed as members of the Local Tire Rationing Board of the City of Salina. Commissioner Breon moved that Jas. H. Moore, Jr., be nominated for con- sideration, and appointed as County Tire Administrator for Saline County, Kan- sas. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Branson and upon vote being taken the motion was carried by the unanimous vote of all commissioners present, and James H. Moore, Jr., was duly nominated for consideration and appointed by the Board of Commissioners as County Tire Administrator for Saline County, Kansas. j On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
