Regular Meetin of the Board of Commissioners Decemer 29, 1941. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commis-
sioner Ferm absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 22, 1941 were read and approved
as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1942 received as fol-
lows:
Donald 0. Moore
On motion of Commissioner Breon application was approved and license
granted to take effect January 1, 1942. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Price moved that petition received from taxicab drivers
and taxicab owners asking for increase in taxicab fares be granted. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Breon moved that taxicab ordinance be amended to grant a six
months license instead of a one ,year license. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to licenses and rates of fares for taxicab and amending Section 28 of
Ordinance No. 4952 and repealing said original section." Referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
Contract between the City of Salina, Kansas and Johnson Bros. Construction
Company of Salina, Kansas, for the construction of INell Nouse Yo. 3 at Pumping Plant
located at Fifth and South Streets was presented and read. Commissioner Price moved
that the contract be approved by the Board of Commissioners, and that the Mayor be
authorized to sign the same on behalf of the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relat-
ing to and fixing the salaries of certain officers and employees of the City of Salina,
and repealing certain ordinances and parts thereof." Referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followng vote was had; Ayes:
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ferm absent.
Mayor approved the cr dinance and it is numbered A-142.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet
in regular session Viednesday, Decem er 31, 1941 at 12 o'clock noon.
