Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 8, 1941. Meeting was called to order by Mayor iiorgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Itiforgen- stern, Branson, Breon and Price and City Attorney 1�'orris responded. Commissioner Ferm absent. The minutes of the Regular IV;eeting of December 1, 1941 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab drivers license for the vear 1941 received as follows: :3. J. Spunaugle Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. The matter of permitting the moving of houses across the Iron Avenue Bridge was discussed. Commissioner Price moved that permission be granted to move houses across the Iron Avenue Bridge if planking is used on all paved streets and the bridge, and to truss across the bridge, subject to the a-pproval of the City Engineer. Motion adopted. Ed French of the Deluxe Cab Company asked for permission to establish a parkin space on the south side of Walnut Street west of 6anta Fe Avenue. On motion the matter was deferred. Motion adopted. Notice of cancellation of x"enn.sylvania Casualty Policy #15-227-02563, G. E. French, d/b/a DeLuxe Cab Company, operator and J. E. Hull, omner was received. City Clerk was in- tructed to notify Mr. Hull of such cancellation and to cease operation of taxicab covered by this policy. Motion adopted. Application was receivedfi-om G. E. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company asking for the transfer of Taxicab Number 1 from 1941 Pontiac Sedan, Serial No. 6HA-41533, Motor No. 6-696106, to 1942 Plymouth Sedan, aerial No. 20153847, Motor No. P14-83085. Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Notion adopted. Application was received from G. E. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company asking for the transfer of Taxicab P4 umber 11 from Pontiac Sedan, Serial To. 6HA-67361, Motor Number 6-738304 to 1942 Plymouth Sedan, Serial No. 22039945, Motor Dumber P14-97437. Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commission rs. Motion adopted. Application was received from F. E. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company asking for the transfer of Taxicab Number 15 from 1940 Studebaker Sedan, serial No. G-31397, Motor No. 35300 to 1942 Plymouth 'sedan, Serial No. 20157533, Motor Number P14-85751. Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Bids for Park Department Truck received as follows: Davis -Childs - - - - - - - - - - - -$1437.00 Hahn Motor Company - - - - - - -- - - 1551.20 H. C. Simpson Chevrolet Company - -- 1325.00 International Harvester Company - - - 1265.10 Commissioner 13ranson moved that bid of International Harvester Company be accented. Motion adopted. As per request of Governor Payne Ratner, Mayor Morgenstern appointed Y. A. Dawson as Special Police at the Salina Municipal Airport without pay from the City. On motion of Commissioner Breon the appointment was confirmed. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
