Meeting was called to order by Mayor VorFenstern. The roll was called and Commissioners Aorgenstern, Branson and Price and Acting City Attorney Jenkins responded. Commissioners Breon and Ferm and City Attorney Norris absent. The minutes of the Regular ,Ileeting of October 13th 1,341 and Regular Meeting of Octo'r)er 15, 1941 were read and approved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1941 received as follows: Clarence Rowson Jake Porter Commissioner Price ;roved that application received from Jake Porter be ap- proved and license a"ra.nted, and that application received from Clarence 'owson be referred back to the Chief of Police for his approval or disapproval. 11otion adopted. Mr. James Viymore appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked for a special permit to erect a building; on Lots 8 and 10, Block 10, Pacific Addition. Commissioner Price moved that permission be Granted. TAotion adopted. The following recommendation was received from the Waterworks Advisory Board: "A. Special Tvreeting of the Waterworks Advisory Board was held at the National Bank of America Building at three F'. M. October 28th, 1941, with the following members present: Roy F. Bailey, chairman; Leon Stevenson, Fred Fastner and H. L. Brown, secretary. Owing to the emergency caused by the recent flood wherein it has been necessary for consumers to use large amounts of water for cleaning basements, lawns, walks and syphoning out basements, the members of the Board feels that w^ter consumers would receive a greater benefit if water bills for the month of t'ovember be rebated instead of in December as has been done for a number of' years Past. On motion of Vr. Steverson and seconded by ?`r. Yastner it was recommended that the water bills for the month ending with the ?'ovemher readin!l*s be rebated. The vote on this motion was unanimous. THE ADVISORY BOARD Tay: H. L. Brown Secretary Commissioner Price moved that same be approved by the 9oard of Commis- sioners. ?,otion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sec - tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, and Price (3) Mays: (0) Commissioners Breon and Ferm absent. A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A resolution relat- inc to the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Selina." deferred to the '?oard of Commissioners.
