Feeting was called to order by Mayor IV'orgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breen, Perm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular !.Ieeting of June 30, 1941 were read and approved as read. A petition was presented asking for sanitary sewer connection on Lot 16, Block 2, Southern Heights Addition, known as 701 Sheridan Street. Commissioner Branson moved that proper notice be given to property owner to make such connection. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking; for the curbing and guttering of Charles Street from Phillips Street to Twelfth Street. Carroll Commissioner Ferm moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted his approval and acceptance regarding the painting of the 1,000,000 gallon water tank and standpipe as follows: Salina, Kansas. July 7, 1941. "To The Honorable HAyor and City Commission, Salina, Yiansas. Gentlemen: I have inspected the .cleaning, sand- blasting and painting of the 1,000,000 gallon steel tank and standpipe and find all work completed in con-liance with contract dated June 3, 1941. I recommend the full payment of this contract as shown by final estimate attached hereto. Respectfully, (Signed) E. VT. Hopkins City Enginec,r" Commissioner Perm moved that acceptance and approval be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate less Estimate No. 1 end Estimate No. 2 for cleaning, sandblasting and painting 1,000,000 gallon water tank and standpipe as per contract of June 3, 1941. Commissioner Ferm moved that the same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: B,Iorgenstern, Branson, Breen, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Idayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-121. 1 1 C J Am ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and piece s of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of lateral sanitery sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts numbered 187, 187-A, 188 and 189, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess- ments." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4999. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
