06-23-1941 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISS IONERS MOM, SALINP, KANSAS. JUNE 23, 1941. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commission:;rs June 23, 1941. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the rolls as called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commission- er Breon absent. The minutes of the Regular ;,Ieeting of June 16, 1941 were r ead nd approved as read. A petition was presented asking for drainage in the 1300 block on North Third Street. Ordered filed. National Refining Company asked for approval of plans for the recon- struction of Filling Station on the corner of Eighth and Ash Streets. Same were approved by the Board of Commissioners subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Breon absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-119. T. 0. Addington, d/b/a Fifth Street Recreation Parlor, asked permission to transfer Beer License Number 7220 from 135 North Fifth Street to 113 North Fifth Street. Commissioner Ferm moved that permission be granted. Motion adopted. Endorsement was received from the Casualty Reciprocal Exchange, Kansas City, Missouri., notifying the City of the cancellation of insurance on 1941 Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5AH11-13920, Motor Number AA 245765, owned by R. H. Pickering of the Bell Cab Company. Commissioner Ferm moved that Taxicab License Number 38 owned by R. H. Pickering of the Dell Cab Company be cancelled. Motion adopted. Application was received from John Bulleigh of the DeLuxe Cab Company, asking for the transfer of Taxicab Number 23 from Ford Sedan 1940, Motor Number 5352517, to 1941 Ford Sedan Motor Number 6-6133460. Commissioner Price moved that appli- cation be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Mayor iuorgenstern submitted the names of the following to s erve on the various City Boards to date: Library lyard Mrs. H. % Moses for a term of four years from February 1, 1941 Mrs. J. Earl Wyatt for a term of four years from February 1, 1941 City Planning Commission Gilbert Geery for a term of three years from May 1, 1941. Board of Public Welfare Rev. W. h. Simmons for a term of five years from NIay 21, 1940. Owen E. Hodgson for a term of five ,years from May 21, 1941. Cemetery Board F. H. Rehm for a term of three years from January 1, 1941 A. F. Pyle for a term of three years from January 1, 1941 Memorial Hall Board A. B. Mackie for a term of three years from April 1, 1941. Waterworks Advisory Board Leon Stevenson for a term of three years from January 1, 1941. On motion of Commissioner Ferm appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
