Meeting was called to order by Mayor Yorgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Mor- genstern, Breon, Branson, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. as read. follows : The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 2, 1941 were read and approved Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1941 received as Jim Williams Carl A. Lindgren Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. McMickle 24 Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Applica tion was received from Carl E. Randle of the Bell Taxi asking for the transfer of taxicab license Number 36 from Chevrolet Sedan, Model 1940, Serial No. 5KB 06-12823, Motor Number 3,577,630 to Chevrolet Sedan, Model 1941, Serial Number AA786551, Motor Number 5AG04-31549. Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Application was received from F. E. trench of the DeLuxe Cab Company &skin- for the transfer of Taxicab License Number 3 from Plymouth Sedan, Model 1939, Serial No. 10637393, Motor No. P8-20,137, to Dodge Sedan, Model 1941, Serial No. 30458144, Motor No, D 19-119465. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company, asking for the transfer of Taxicab License Number 4, from Plymouth Sedan, Model 1940, Serial No. 10931523, Motor No. P 10-90152 to Hudson Sedan 1939, Serial Number 90684, Motor Number 90684. Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motionadopted. Application was received from G. E. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company, asking for the transfer of Taxicab License Number 16, from Nash Sedan, Model 1940, Serial No. H-78031, Motor No. HE 78031 to Dodge Sedan Model 1941, Serial Number 30412417, Motor No. D-19-78485, Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. A communication was received from the Water Safety Committee of the American Red Cross of Salina, Kansas, recommending that a shower project at Dunbar School be developed to accomodate colored and Mexican children during the summer. Same was ordered filed. Proposals for the painting of the one -million gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank, and the Water Standpipe on Mt. Barbara Hill of the Water Department, as sub- mitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 2, 1941 by: 71. T. Davis Construction Company, American Tank Service Company, Pyle Bros. Iron Preserving Company, and Southwestern Tower Tank Service, were considered. 1 1 1 Commissioner Ferm moved that the painting contract for said water tanks be i awarded to W. T. Davis Construction Company, Tahoe City, California, using Valdura As.,b-l+- Aluminum on the exterior and Valdura "Sarva" on the interior of the one -million gallon>; Elevated Tank, and Lee Hardware Company's Asphalt Base Aluminum paint on the exterior and Rockport Daint Company's Asphalt Base Tank Reliner on the in- terior. of the Standpipe , and that the Mayor be authorized to sign a contract for such work, as of June 3, 1941, which shall provide for the usual contract and Statu- tory Bonds. Motion adopted. On motion if Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in regular session, Saturday, June 14, 1941 at 12 o'clock noon.
