Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 26, 1941. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 19, 1941 were read and approved
as read.
Peter Pan Cleaners submitted plans for building to be erected on the East
forty feet of Lots 1 and 3, Block 1, E. M. I. Addition. Commissioner Ferm
moved that same be approved by the Board of %ommissioners. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1941 received as
follows:
W. B. McMickle
Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Application was received from E. N. Gant of the Bell Taxi Company asking
for the transfer of Taxicab Number 17, from Studebaker Sedan, Model 1940, Serial
Number G-76583, Motor No. 86287 to Studebaker Sedan, model 1941, Serial No. 145091,
Motor Number 164018. Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application was received from Geo. T. Tibbitts of the Bell Taxi Company,
asking for the transfer of Taxicab No. 21 from Studebaker Sedan, Model 1940,
Serial No. G-73747, Motor Number 83115 to Studebaker Sedan, Model 1941, Serial
No. G-140269, Motor No. 153550. Commissioner Branson moved that application
be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
A protest was received from property owners in the vicinity of Ninth and
Pacific protesting the moving of street car lunch room to the northwest corner of
Ninth and Pacific. Ordered filed.
The matter of approving the type and location of building to be placed on
Lot 2, Block 29, Military Addition, as presented by H. B. Peatling to the Board
of Commissioners, May 19, 1941, was again taken up by the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Price moved that request be rejected and on roll call the following
vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Price (3) Nays: Breon and Ferm
(2)•
City Manager Brown recommended that street lights 'be placed at the inter-
section of Ninth and Pacific. On motion of Commissioner Breon recommendation was
approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet
in regular session, Saturday, May 31, 1941 at twelve o'clock noon.
