MARCH 10, 1941.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 10, 1941. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgen-
stern, Branson, Brecn, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 3, 1941 were read and approved
as read.
The matter of the revocation of the Cereal Malt Beverage License of Mabel
D. Price as a General Retailer Class "B", under License Number 7227, granted by the
Board of Commissioners January 15, 1941, under Ordinance Number 4741, pursuant to
notice served on said Mabel D. Price as directed by the Board of Commissioners on
March 3, 1941, came on for hearing. Mabel D. Price appeared in person.
Commissioner Branson moved that the Cereal Malt Beverage License issu ed to
Mabel L. Price by the Board of Commissioners on January 15, 1941, being License
Number 7227 issued under Ordinance Number 4741 to said Mabel D. Price as a General
Retailer Class "B" for her place of business at 211 Fast Walnut Stre t be not revoked.
Motion adopted.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1941 received from:
Clyde Hook
Noah L. Rider.
Co mmissioner Ferm moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.

Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved and license granted, subject
to inspection of taxicab by T. L. Bayne, Building Inspector. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Ferm moved that Been Application Number 46 received from Sadie
Griggs, March 3, 1941, for General Retailer Class "A" Individual License be rejected.
Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for and authorizing the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina,
Kansas, in the sum of $18,045.52, to pay the cost of improving certain streets and
alleys in said City to be designated as Series P-126." Referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
City Engineer reported favorable on the petitions asking for the curbing and
guttering of:
Tenth Street from the center of Wilson Street north 300 feet to connect
on existing curb'e.nd gutter; and
3ighth Street _ from the north line of Harsh Street to the south line of
Hamilton Street.
A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Eighth Street from the north line of
Harsh Street to the south line of Hamilton Street. Referred to theBoard of
Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Tenth Street from the center line of
Wilson Street north 300 feet to connect on existing curb and gutter." Referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Eugene'W. Thompson appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked
for the reinstatement of his taxicab drivers license. Commissioner Ferm moved that
license be reinstated sixty days from date of suspension, which will be April 2,
1941. Motion adopted.
Albert L. Taylor, d/b/a Taylor Grocery, asked for the transfer of his Beer
License from 808 North Santa F e Avenue to 813 North Santa Fe Av,eaue. Permission was
granted by the Board of Commissioners.
Application was received from Elmer Kihn of Bell lax asking for the transfer
of taxicab number 30, from Studebaker Sedan, Serial No.. G-108143, Motor No. 122115
to a 1941 Ford, Motor No. 6279744. Application was approved subject to insurance
coverage and inspection of taxicab by T. L. Bayne, Building Inspector. Motion
adopted.
Mayor 1i1orgenstern submitted the names of the following Judges and Clerks
for the Primary Election of Larch 24, 1941 and General City Election of April 1,

of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned to
