02-17-1941 Minutes0 1 1 L 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGUL'�R MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. FEBRUARY 17, 1941. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 17, 1941. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commis- sioners Morgenstern, Branson and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Com- mission rs Breon and Form absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 10, 1941 and Regular Meeting of -February 15, 1941 were read and approved as read. J. E. Hull asked permission to transfer Taxicabs numbered 2 and 5 from DeLuxe Cab Company to City Cab Company. Commissioner Price moved that request be granted subject to having proper insurance and inspection made and consent of DeLuxe Cab Company. Motion adopted. Commissioner Branson moved that J. E. Hull be granted permission for two taxicab stands along the street at 107 and 109 West Ash street. Motion adopted. Application was received from Jack Sprecker asking for the transfer of taxicab Number 9 from DeLuxe Cab Company to Bell Taxi Company. On motion permission was granted subject to the consent of DeLuxe Cab Company. Motion adopted. Commissioner Price moved that G. W. Jukes be granted permission to place his building on North Ninth Street with a set -back of fifteen (15) feet. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Price (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Breon and Ferm absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-103. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Tenth Street from the center line of Wilson Street north 300 feet to connect with existing curb and gutter. Petition referred to the City 2hgineer. The appraisers report for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers num- bered 187, 187-A, 188 and 189 were received, and on motion of Commissioner Price, Monday, February 24, 1941 at 4:30 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk publish notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. Mayor Morgenstern submitted the name of Mrs. E. M. Brown as a member of the Public Health Nursing Board to fill vacancy created by the resignation of Mrs. Chas. L. Schwartz. Appointment confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
