Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Yormenstern, Branson, Ferm said Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Com- missioner Breon absent. J y The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 20, 1941 and Special Meeting of January 20, 1941 were read and approved as read. s M Applications for taxicab drivers license for the gear 1941 received as follows: Donald W. Gerard James E. Howard Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. r Mr. Guy Jukes asked permission to move a building from the 900 -Block :on North Santa Fe Avenue to the 1000 Block on North Ninth Street. Commissioner Price moved that permission be granted subject to set -back regulations. Motion adopted. Applications for taxicab license for the year 1941 received as follows: i Name of Owner ITame of Operator Cab Number f Jack Sprecker Deluxe Cab Company 9 On motion of Commissioner Branson application was approved by the Board of Commissioners and license granted. Motion adopted. i City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for the paving of the un- paved portion of Broadway Boulevard from the intersection. of Ninth and Pacific to a point 248 feet south of North Street. Same was approved by the Board of Com- missioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Brown Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Sherman Street; Frost Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Sherman Street; Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street; Tenth Street from the center line of Pacific to center line of Harsh Street; Tenth Street from the south line of Franklin Street to a point 300 feet south of the south line of Franklin Street; the paving of Alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Iron Avenue; and the paving of Broadway Boulevard from the west line of Ninth Street to a point 248 feet south of the south line of North Street, and relating; to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess- ments." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance re- lating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of lateral sanitary sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts nunbered 184, 185 and 186, and relat- ing to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a certain alley in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by see- ; I tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Breon absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4991. On notion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in Regular session February 1, 1941 at 12 o'clock noon.
