Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 6, 1941 were read and ap- proved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1941 received as follows: Harold F. Maiming Mhagene W. Commissioner Branson moved that the license on Music Machines operating and/or playing one or more records with a coin or coins of the value of more than one cent be reduced from $10.00 per year to $7.50 per year, and that the City Clerk�-e authorized to refund the sum of $2.50 to A. P. McCauley of Lindsborg, Kansas. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4693 as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4972 relating to the licensing of certain music machines or devices." Commissioner Price moved that Application Number 30, received from C. 0. Flame, d/b/a'Da gle Grill be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sevier Districts Nos. 187A and 189, and providing for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in the said districts so created and pro- viding for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said districts for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." The appraisers report for the paving of Broadway Boulevard (By-pass) from the west line of Ninth Street at the intersection of Ninth and Pacific to a point 248 feet south of the south line of North Street, was received, and on motion of Commissioner Branson Monday, January 20, 1941 at 4:30 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting to act on said report, and that the City Clerk publish notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduc=ed on first reading entitled: "An ordinance relat- ing to any regulating traffic on certain streets in the City of Salina and requiring vehicles to be stopped before entering or crossing the intersections of certain streets with certain railroad tracks in said City, providing for the placing of stop signs at such places, and providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Ferm moved that the City remit the cost of advertising for the "Iron Lung" proposition. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in regular session, Wednesday, January 15, 1941 at 12:00 noon. City Clerk
