COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JANUARY 6, 1941
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 6, 1941. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minute s of the Regular Meeting of December 30, 1940 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1941 received as
follows:

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved by the Board of
Commissioners and license granted. Motion adopted.
G. W. Jukes asked for permission to construct a building on the East 75
feet of Lots 2 and 4. Block 1, Woodland Addition. Commissioner Price moved
that permission be granted provided all requirements of the Building and Zoning
Ordinances are complied with. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for s ec and reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the licensing and regulation of the slaughtering of animals in the
City of Salina and for the appointment of a Meat Inspector and providing penal-
ties for the violation of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 4987.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creat-
ing and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Nos. 187A and 189, and providing
for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in the said districts so created
and providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments
against the property in said districts for the payment of such construction and
for the issuing of bonds therefor." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A letter of appreciation, in reference to installation of White �Vay on
Mulberry Street from Santa Fe Avenue to Ninth street, was received from Rev. R. V.
Kearns of the Presbyterian Church. Same was ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
