Regular Meeting of the Board. of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Decem- ber 23, 1940. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson and Perm and City Attorney Norris respond- ed. Commissioners Breon and Price absent. i The minutes of the Regular '-'fleeting of December 16, 1940 were read and approved i as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188, being an ordinance dividing the City of Salina, Kansas, into zones or districts and for other purposes by creating a new use zone or district to be known as the "AX" Residence District and defining the limits thereof and re- stricting and regulating the use of property located in such district." On motion of Commissioner Perm the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Perm (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Breon and Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4984. An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance relat- ing to and fixing the salaries of r;ertain officers and employees of the City of Salina and repealing parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions hereof. " Ordinance referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance relat- ing to and providing for the taxation of court costs in certain cases in the Police Court of the City of Salina, and in cases appealed from the judgment of the Police Court." Ordinance referred to the Board of Commissioners. Application was received from 'Emery F. Klein of the Bell Taxi Company, asking for the transfer of Taxicab License Number 37 from Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5JA12-11315, Motor No. 2132997 to Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5KA02-19831, Motor No. 3157050. Commissioner Perm moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Endorsement was received from the Casualty Reciprocal Exchange of Kansas City, Missouri, notifying the City of Salina of the cancellation of insurance covering Taxicab Number 31 owned by E. H. Shelton. Commissioner Branson moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce of Salina, `'ansas, in reference to 1941 Band Contract. Action on same deferred until Monday, December 30, 1940 at 4:30 P. M.
