Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 16, 1940. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 9, 1940 and Regular Meeting
of December 14, 1940 were read and approved as read.
Mr. 0. P. Barritt appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked
permission to convert the grocery store building located on Lot 15, Block 46,
Military Addition into a blacksmith shop and garage. On motion of Commissioner
Breon permission was granted. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Form the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Form and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is numbered A-95.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Form the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Form and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-96.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
amending Sections 30-108, 30-109, 30-111, 30-113, 30-114 of the Kevised Ordinanc es
of the City of Salina, 1939, being Sections 8,9,11,13 and 14 of Ordinance Number
4837 relating to the division of the City of Salina into wards and voting precincts
and defining the boundaries thereof, and repealing said original sections."
On motion of Commissioner Form the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) Bays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is qumbered 4983.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the
west side of Merrill Street from the south line of Crawford to the north line of
Illinois, abutting Lots 1 to 8 inclusive, Block 4, Southern Heights Addition to the
City of Salina, Kansas. Referred to the City Engineer.
A communication was received from Chief of Police D. K. Fitch, recommending
the revocation of Taxicab Drivers License Number 36 issued to Dale Boyce. Com-
missioner Branson moved that license be revoked. Motion adopted.

Application was received from G. L. French of the DeLuxe Oab Company
asking for the transfer of Taxicab License No. 8 from 1939 Plymouth Sedan, Serial
Number No. 10852876, Motor No. P6-376171 to 1941 Dodge Sedan, Serial No. 30394110,
Motor No. D19-58930. Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
City Clerk
