OCTOBER 14, 1940.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 14, 1940. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breen and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners
Branon and Ferm absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 7, 1940 were read and approved
as r ead.
Mr. C. H. Bren of the Chamber of Commerce presented a petition in regard to
one-hour parking. Same was ordered filed.
Dr. J. H. Guyton asked .for a special permit to remodel his residence at
810 West Iron Avenue into an apartment. On motion of Commissioner breon permission
was granted.
City Planning Commission submitted a report in reference to the moving of
the Salina Seed Company building on North Santa Fe Avenue. On motion the report
was adopted by the Board of Com*.. issioners if the same is approved by the Building
Inspector. Motion adopted.
A communication was received from the City Planning Commission in reference
to amending ordinance pertaining to set -back in "C" Commercial used district of the
North fifty feet of Lot 1, Holland's Addition, located on the southeast corner of
Santa Fe Avenue and South Street. Ordered filed.
A communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce in reference to
employment of a Meat Inspector. Same was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the resurfacing of tennis courts in
Sunset Park. Ordered filed.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sectins
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Morgenstern, Breen and Price (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Branson and
Ferm absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numb Bred A-87.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
