07-25-1940 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEMINGS, R3GULAR IJEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 25, 1940. Regular adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 25, 1940. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ferm, the roll was called and Com- missioners Branson, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commis- sioners Morgenstern and Breon absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 15, 1940 and Regular Meeting of July 22, 1940 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1940 received as follows: Sereno Bartelle Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Application was received from Carl E. Randle of the Bell Taxi Company, asking for the transfer of Taxicab Number 36, Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5JB-7635, Motor No. 2141066 to Cehvrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5KB06-12823, Motor No. 3577630. Commissioner Price moved that application be granted. Motion adopted. Application was received from F. E. French of the DeLuxe Cab Company for the transfer of Taxicab No. 10, Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 54BO-2-15342, Motor No. 1676051 to Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5HB11-6609, Motor No. 1350516. Commissioner Branson moved that application be granted. Motion adopted. Application was received from Earl H. Shelton asking for the transfer of Taxicab No. 31, for Plymouth Sedan, Motor No. PO -98933, Serial No. 10681783 from Yelloway Cab Company to DeLuxe Cab Company. Commissioner Price moved that applica- tion be granted. Motion adopted. A communication was received from Insurance Company asking for the elimina- tion of Cab Number 34, owned b C. J. Rowson covering 1938 Plymouth Sedan, Motor No. P8-71666, from Policy DD -1322 of the DeLuxe Cab Company. Commissioner Branson moved that request be granted and that the City Clerk notify Mr. Rowson of the action taken b the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A petition was received from property owners on Tenlawns, asking their address on Tenlawns known as numbers 1 to 10 respectively. Commissioner Branson moved that request be granted, and that Building Inspetor be notifed. City Engineer reported favorably on the petition asking for the vacation of the alley running east and west between Ash and Elm Streets, from the west line of Oakdale Avenue to the west line of Lot 1, Block 2, on the north side of said alley, and to the west line of Lot 10, Block 1, on the south side of said alley, in Iflight's Addition to the City of Salina. Commissioner Price moved that report be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce in reference to health conditions of the City of Salina. Same was ordered filed. Acting Mayor Ferm submitted the name of E. C. Wyatt as a member of the Memorial Hall Board for a term of three years from April 1, 1940. Commissioner Branson moved that appointment be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
