COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

JUITZ 17, 1940.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 17, 1940. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners
Breon and Ferm absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 10, 1940 and Regular Meeting of
June 15, 1940 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had: Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Price (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Breon
and Ferm absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-76.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to issuance
of Temporary Note in the amount of $2,000.00 (W.P.A. Project Number 8010-2S)."
Onantion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read by the
following vote: Ayes: Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson and Price (3) Nays: (0)
Commissioners Breon and Ferm absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is
numbered 792.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 163, Resolution Book
Number 3.
An ordinPnee was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation

On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by

A petition was presented asking for the curbing and. guttering of Venango
I Street from Sherman Street to Custer Street. Ordered filed.
A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Venango Street from the west
line of Sherman Strait to t he east line of Custer Street." Referred to t he
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the va-tation of the alley running
j east and west between Ash and Elm Streets, from the west line of Oakdale Avenue
to the west line of Lot 1, Block 2, on the north side of said alley, and to the
west line of Lot 10, Block 1, on the south line of said alley in Wight's Addition
to the City of Salina. Said alley abuts Lots 1, 10, 11 and 12 in said eight's
Addition. Petition ordered filed. j
An ordinance was introduced on first readier,g entitled: "An ordinance
providing for and authorizing the is suanc a of Improvement Bonds of the City of
Salina, Kansas in the sum of $6932.49 to pay the cost of improving certain streets
in said City, to be designated as Series P-125." Referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of:
Brown Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of
Sherman Street;
Frost Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of
! Sherman Street;
Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of
j :Elm Street;
Tenth Street from the south line of Franklin Street to a point 300 feet
south of the south line of Franklin Street; and
Tenth Street from the center line of Pacific Street to the center line of
j Harsh Street;
also for the ^aving of:
Adley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street from the south line
of Ash Street to the north line of Iron Avenue,
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Price, Monday, Jule 1, 1940 at
4:30 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting to act on such reports, and that
the City Clerk give notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided
by law. Motion adopted.
The appraisers reports for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sever-rs
as follows:
Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 184 located in Phillips Street and Washington
Street;
Lateral Sanitany Sewer No. 185 located in Cedar Street from College
Avenue to Missouri Pacific trA.cks ; and
Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 186 located in Rahn Street from Fourth Street
east 290 feet,
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Branson, Monday, July 1, 1940 at
4:30 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting to act on such reports, and that
the City Clerk give notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided
by law. TJotion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
