COMMISSION3RS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS + APRIL 15, 1940. i Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 15, 1940 Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commis- ! ! sioner Breon absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 10, 1940 were read and ap- proved as read. Application for taxicab license for the year 1940 received as follows: Name of0 erator Name of Owner Cab Number i i Bell Taxi Company Carl E. Randle 36 Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners and license granted. Motion adopted. A communication was received from the Yelloway Cab Company, asking for ! an additional parking space on Ash Street between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street. Commissioner Ferm moved that no action be taken until a letter has been received from the property owners approving the same. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes% Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Breon absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-68. i City Fngineer filed plans and specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of: i Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 187 located in the alley running north and j south between Fourth and Fifth Streets from Pacific Avenue to Forrest Avenue; and i Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 188 located in the alley running north and south between Third and Fourth Streets from Pacific Avenue to Forrest Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Price the same were adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for such improvements to be received up to and including Monday, May 6, 1940 at 4:30 P. M. Motion adopted. I ' Commissioner Ferm moved that the contract for pump to be used in Well House Number 8, Oakdale Park, be awarded to Layne -Western Company for $2,287.55, the lowest, responsible bidder on those that :net the specifications. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Montrose Street from the south line of Charles Street to the north line of Crawford Avenue.
