Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners !,larch 11, 1940.
Meeting was called to order by 1,Iayor hIorpnstern, the roll was called.
and Commissioners I'+orgenstern, Ferm and rice and City Attorney Norris
responded. Commi ssiore rs Branson and Breon absent.
The minutes of the Regular U,eeting of -arch 4, 1940 were read and
approved as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1940 received
from:
Ora F. Tweedy
Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.
A. E. Taylor, d/b/a Taylor Grocery, made application for change
of location of Cereal I;ialt Beverage License No. 6934, from 808 North
E Santa Fe Avenue to 813 North Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Price
moved that application be approved and that change of location be per-
mitted. -otion adopted.
Street Excavation Bond was presented from Southwestern Bell Tele-
phone Company. On motion of Commissioner Price bond was approved by
the Board of Commissioners. 16-otion adopted.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of
cost for paving improvements on Broadway Boulevard from a point 248
feet south of -forth Street to the intersection of D.'inth and Pacific
Streets. On motion of Commissioner Form same were approved and or-
dered filed.

City Engineer reported favorably on the following curb and gut-
ter pe ti tions :

Brown. Street frog., tb.e west line of Lleventh Street to the east
line of ShermanStreet; Tenth Street from Franklin to 300' south of
Oakdale ""venue from the north line of Ash Street to the south
line of Elm Street.

lution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Frost Street
from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Sherman

lution relating, to the curbing, guttering; and grading Brown Street
from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Sherman

A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A reso-
lution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Tenth Street
from the south line of Fra nklin Street to a point 300 feet south of the
south line of Frt.nklin Street." Referred to the Board of Commission-
ers.

A petition was presented asT.ing for the paving-, of the alley lying
between Santa re Avenue and Fifth Street from Iron Avenue to iIsh Street.
On motion, petition was granted. Lotion adopted.
A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A reso-
lution relating to the paving of the alley _ lying; between Santa Fe
!-venue and Fifth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north
line of Iron Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
The following com: unication ,vas received from the .",'aterworks
Advisory Board:
"A meetin€ of the `,,7a.terwork3 Advisory Board was
held in the Director's Room of the National Bank of
Arierica at 3:30 P. TVi. T,arch 1, 1940, with the fol-
lowin=- members present: Roy F. Bailey, Chairman,
Chas. 7. Shaver, Fred D. t�astner, Leon Stevenson ,
H. L. Brown, secretary, and E. 'N. Hopkins, City
Engineer. Ray Oebhart beim; absent.
Estimates of cost of a one million gallon
underground storage reservoir at the pumping sta-
tion were submitted. After due consideration and
on motion of T%1r. hastner and seconded by TrTr. Shaver,
the Board recommended to the Board of City Commis-
sioners that a one million gallon concrete storage
reservoir be constructed at the waterworks pumping;
station providing '.I'.P . labor can be secured. the
esti; ted cost to the '.'later Department to be approxi-
mrately4 20, 000 and that the Paulette-'"Jilson engineer-
ing firm be given the contract to design, furnish
plans and specifications, detailed list of materials,
steel bending diagrams, and make up the proper appli-
cation for submitting to the "a. P. A. Their en,-,i-
neerin fee to be 4;� of the estimated cost including
"1. P. A. labor.
The vote taken on this recommendation was
unanimous. 1Jo further business appearing; the meeting
adjourned."

the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
