FEBRUARY 19, 1940.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 10, 1040.
Meeting was called to order by Acting 1s.ayor 1"erm, the roll was called
and Commissioners Branson, Breon Perm and Price and City Attorney
luorris responded. Commissioner 1�lorgenstern absent.
The minutes of the Regular 14eeting of February 12, 1940 and
Regular 14eeting of February 16, 1940 were read and approved as read.
A petition was presented asking for the paving of that portion
on each side of the present 20 foot concrete paving and the curb and
gutter on Broadway Boulevard from the intersection of Ninth and Pacif-
ic to the north side of North Street. Commissioner Branson moved that
the City proceed with the improvements. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the paving of Broadway Boulevard from the
west line of Ninth Street to a point 248 feeEsouth olof ' the south line
of "orth Street, and providing for the cost thereof, and how the same
shall be assessed and the manner of payment thereof." On motion
the ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts
in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
Nos. 134, 185 and 136, and providing for the construction of lateral
sanitary Lewers in the said districts so created and providing for
the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the
property in said districts for thepayment of such construction and
for the issuing of bonds therefor." On motion the ordinance was
referred tothe Board of Commissioners.
A communication was received from Vi. B. iricl`-iickle of the Yelloway
Cab Company, asking for the reduction of taxi fares in the City of
Salina, Kansas. Ordered filed. ,
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1940
received from:
Robert iyi. Akins.
Commissioner Breon moved, that application be approved and
license granted. motion adopted.
Application Number 176 received from Rogers Outdoor Advertising,
asking permission to erect a billboard on Lets 5 and 7, Block 2, Chicago
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Branson moved
that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Ferm, Branson, Breon and Price
(4) Nays: (0) Commissioner i,iorgenstern absent. Acting 'payor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered A-63.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners ad-
journed.
