COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JANUARY 22, 1940.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 22, 1940.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called
and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm and Price and City At-
torney Norris responded. Commissioner Breon absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 15, 1940 were
read and approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1940 re-
ceived as follows:

Commissioner Ferm moved that applications be approved and li-
cense granted. Motion adopted.
Earl i'+lorgan of the Rotary Club Appeared before the Board of Com-
missioners in reference to the matter of caring for trees along the
parkings.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and
license granted as soon as Certificate of Title is furnished. Motion
adopted.
Bids for the construction of a new city well near the Munici-
pal Swimming Pool in Oakdale Park received as follows:

American I'Vell Works, Kansas City, Missouri X2675.00
Commissioner Ferm moved that contract be awarded to the Layne -
Western Company of Kansas pity, Missouri, the lowest, responsible
bidder. Motion adopted.
Mr. B. A. breon was selected as the City's representative
on the Community Chest Board to succeed the late M. L. Mitchell.
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
