Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ferm, the roll was called and Commissioners Ferm, Branson, Dreon and Price and City Attorney Nor- ris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent. The minutes of the Regular meeting of January 8, 1940 were read anc approved as read. An ordinance was introruced entitled: "An ordinance making appropration for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ferm. Branson., Breon and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Idorgenstern absent. Commissioner Branson moved that Trust Deed be accepted by the Board of Commissioners and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Bill Cemetery Endo�ament Fund as provided by Ordinrance Nurrf!:,er 3530 of the City of jalina, Kansas. Commissioner Branson moved that Trust Deed be accepted by the Board of Commissioners and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Bill Cemetery Endo�ament Fund as provided by Ordinrance Nurrf!:,er 3530 of the City of jalina, Kansas. Motion adopted. City Manager reported teat the ,5aterworks Department had charred off uncollectible accounts for 1939 in the sum of X411.25. Com- missioner Breon moved that the charge off of said accounts by the aterworks Department be authorized and approved. Llotion adopted. Commissioner Price moved that taxicab drivers application received from Clare:ce Rowson January 8, 1940 be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Commissioner Breon moved that taxicab drivers application re- ceived from Carl E. T,;cCollum January 8, 1940 be approved and license elrrin.ted. T,`otion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first readings entitled: "An ordinance creating the additional office of Deputy City Clerk." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providin; for the construction of certain storm sewers in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 25 and 26, and providing for the letting of a contract for such construction and for the doing of such ~work by the City in the event a contract is not let therefor and for the payment of the cost thereof."
