Board of Commissioners January 2,
1940. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll
was called and Commissioners
V11orgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 26, 1939 were
read and approved as read.

Commissioner Ferm moved that applications be approved and li-
cense granted. Motion adopted.
Claim for damages in the amount of 6-2,000.00 was presented
by Arthur Dillingham, Attorney for IIrs. Mattie VanDame and. MIr. H. V1.
VanDame. Ordered filed.

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and
license granted. I%iotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to certain permit fees required by Section 3 of
Ordinance No. 4709."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections arid on its final adoption the roll was called and
the followin vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm
and Price (5� Nays: (0) Playor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 49.63.
An ordinance was introduced for second readin-7 entitled: "An
ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4693 and repealing said
original Section and repealing; Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 of Ordi-
nance No. 4693, and repealing Ordinances 4850 and 4926.tt
On m otion of Commissioner h'erm the ordinance was read and adopt-
ed by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Branson, Ferm and
Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num-
bered 4964.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon,
Perm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered A-58.
Iiayor Morgenstern submitted the name of C. H. Gawthrop as a
member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina Municipal Band, for a
term of three years from January 1, 1940. Commissioner Ferm moved
that appointment be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
T;Iayor Dlorgenstern submitted the names of Fred D. Kastner and
Raymond C. Gebhart as members of the 7,faterworks Advisory Board for a
term of three years from January 1, 1940. Commissioner Perm moved that
appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
Mayor 1�[orgenstern submitted the name of Theo. P. Worsley, Jr.
as a member of the Board of Directors of the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, for
a term of three years from January 1, 1940. Commissioner Ferm moved
that appointment be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
Tfayor Morgenstern submitted the name of Ira S. Huntington as
a member of the City Planning and Zoning Commission for a period of
three years from May 1, 1939. Commissioner Perm moved that appoint-
ment be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Mayor Morgenstern submitted the names of H. A. Bachofer and
Uel Robertson as members of the Plumbers Examining Board for a term
of one gear from December 1, 1939. Commissioner Perm moved that ap-
pointment be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. 141otion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of C ommissioners
adjourned.
