Meeting was called to order by I.ayor 14orgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, 1"erm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the regular 1.eeting of December 11, 1939, were read and approved as read. Commissioner Breon moved that Taxicab Drivers License Number 90, issued to D. Iv,7. Sullivan, 1�ovember 141, 1939 be revoked, as per request of W. B. Mci�lickle. Tlotion adopted. Applications for Taxicab Drivers License for the balance of 1939 received as follows: John H. Looney Milton J. "'chultz L. H. Pickett Commissioner Branson moved that applications eceived f rom John H. Looney and Milton J. Schultz be approved and license granted. Lotion adopted. Commissioner Price moved that application received from L. H. Pickett be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. A petition was presented for the securing of a right of way for sidewalk from Tenth to Eleventh Street just north of 300 South Tenth Street and the construction of a sidewalk from Tenth Street to Baker Street, using part of present alley from Eleventh to Baker Street. City Commission, The City Planning and Zoning Commission, in a special called session on Friday evenin, Le- cember 15, considered the proposal of 11=rs. Gene- vieve and Mr. li. A. Nelson for the replatting of Lot 1, Mt. 3arbara 'ark Addition. After due consideration of the proposed change the Commission acted favorably on it and, accordingly, r ecommends to ` he 1layor and Com- missioners favorable consideration of the re - plat as shown on the accompanying certificate. 'jar- bara Park Addition submitted by Genevieve Nelson and D. k. Nelson be approved, and that the City Clerk be authorized to endorse tL-ereon the approval of the Board of Commissioners. X-otion carried. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the orrinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was, called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Idayor approved the ordinance and it is num- bered A-54. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: I1orgenstern, Branson, Breon, Fern and Price (5) mays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-55. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner h'erm the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: I'4lorgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) mays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-56. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 4709 of the City of Salina re- latingto the production of milk and milk products by adding thereto certain new sections relating to and providing for the inspection and testing of cows for certain diseases and providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was hadtt• Ayes: l,lorgenstern, Branson, Breon Fern and trice (5) bays: (01 Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4960. Commissioner Fern moved that the water refund for the December 1939 reading be approved. Lotion adopted. Commissioner Fern moved that the City I -Tanager be instructed to notify Rex Kent to have sign located on Broadway Boulevard moved back to conform with Sign Ordinance. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the issuance of licenses for the sale of cereal malt bevera"es under the provisions of Ordinance No. 4741 and providint; for the revoking of such license." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading• entitled: "An ordinance relating to and fixing the salaries of certain officials in the City of Salina., Kansas." Referred tothe Board of commissioners.
