NOVEMBER 6, 1939.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners '4ovember 6,
1939. Meeting was called to order by Ivlayor Llorgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners lforgenstern, Branson, zreon, Ferro and
Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular lyleeting of October 30, 1939 were
read and approved as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of
1939 received as follows:

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and
license granted. Motion adopted.

Commissioner Ferro moved that application be approved and li-
cense granted subject to insurance coverage. Motion adopted.
Cecil Smith asked permission to make an extension on the
front of his building located at 927 East Iron Avenue. On motion of
Commissioner Price permission was granted. Mlotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner 1-'erm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: 11orgenstern, Branson, Breon,
Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance arid it
is numbered A-49.
A request was received from K. C. Winders asking permission
to establish a cornercial printing plant at his residence located
at 944 Highland Avenue. Commissioner Ferro moved that request be
rejected and that the zoning ordinance be adhered to. Motion adopted.
A communication was received from the Chief of Police asking
for the revocation of taxicab drivers license Number 29 issued to
Geo. Raymond Boyer, January 10, 1939. Commissioner Hranson moved that
license be revoked. I -lotion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering
of Hrown ''treet from Eleventh Street to Sherman Street. Referred to
the City Engineer.
A communication was received from the Homestead Building and
Loan Association advising the Board of Commissioners that the Board
of Directors of The Homestead Building and Loan Association have de-
cided to accept the proposition submitted by the Board of Commission-
ers, uctober 30, 1939, for damages of�350.00 each on account of
changes occasioned by the by-pass to the properties known as street
Number 168 and 170 Itorth Olive Street Salina, Kansas. Ordered filed.
Claim for damages in the amount of y1,000.00 was received
from George P. Cassell. Ordered filed.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance referring to and correcting a clerical error in Ordinance
Number 4944." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On morion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners ad-
journed.
