OCTOBER 23, 1939.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 23,
1939. T".eeting was called to order by Tvlayor iYorgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners 1;11orgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular TJeeting of October 16, 1939 were _
read and approved as read.
A request was received from W. B. Mcr='lickle asking for the
transfer of his taxicabs numbered 4 and 18 from the Deluxe Cab Company
to an association of cabmen who will operate as the Yelloway Cab Company
in Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Branson moved that request be grant-
ed. P,lotion adopted.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1939
received from:
Otto L Sherman.
Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved and license
granted. Ttlotion adopted.
A communication was received from the Dodge Agency in reference
to claim for damages on account of the overpass at Street No. 163 and
170 North Olive, Salina, Kansas. Ordered filed.
In reference to petition for the closing of the alley between
Eleventh and Twelfth Street from 1dorrison Avenue to 71ashington
Avenue, Commissioner Breon moved that same be granted providing all
cost be paid by property owners for paving at head of alleys. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first readin entitled: "An
ordinance vacating a certain alley which runs north and south in Block i
4 in Replat of Morrison's Third Addition." Referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
A petition was resented asking for the curbing and guttering
of Oakdale Avenue from -resented
Street to Elm Street. Referred to the
City Engsineer.
D. A. �lelson and Genevieve K. Nelson submitted a plan for
the replatting of Lot 1, Tat. D'arbara Park Addition to the City of Salina,
Kansas. Referred to the City Planning Coin-iission.
Community Chest Committee as1ked permission to fly airplanes over
the City and distribute hand bills. Commissioner Breon moved that
permission be granted. Motion adopted.
Application of ver"-)ert Glover for permission to build garage
out to property lisle on premises at Pershing and Sunset Drive, as now
prohibited by zoning ordinance, was brought up for consideration. Com-
missioner Perm moved that application be denied and that the ordinance
be adhered to. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
