10-09-1939 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. I COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. OCTOBER 9, 1939. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 9, 1939. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 2, 1939 were read and approved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1939 received as follows: Carl E. McCollam,,- L. D. Neal Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Application for Pool Hall License for the balance of 1939 received from: A. H. Brockman Commissioner Branson moved that action on same be deferred for one week. motion adopted. Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1939 received from: Jack Spreckery Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved if same is 0. K'd by the Chief of Police. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab license No. 29 was presented by De Luxe Cab Company, Operator and Jack Sprecker owner, with evidence of insurance coverage.. Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners and that license be issued. Motion adopted. M. J. Finnegan asked permission to move the Gehlenberg property located at 503 East Iron Avenue to the St. John's Hospital grounds. Commissioner Ferm moved that permission be granted if planked all the way while house is being moved. Motion adopted. Ray 17orcester requested the Board of Commissioners to approve a permit for erection of a dwelling house on the North 40 feet of Lot 37, Seventh Street, to be Constructed of asbestos siding and composition roof. Commissioner Ferm moved that the permit be granted provided the regular set -back and side yard requirements of the zoning ordinance be observed. Carried. Bell Taxi Company asked permission to locate a trail car for taxi office at Fifth and Ash Streets. Commissioner Price moved that j a temporary permit be granted providing the car be placed not less than fifteen feet from Leidigh & Havens Building, and that this per- mission may be revoked at any time, by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188 by adding certain territory to the "C" Commercial District as defined in Section 5 of said ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4955. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 4, Section 5 and Section 17, of Ordinance No. 4709 being an ordinance defining and relating to production, grad- ing and sale of milk and milk products, and repealing said original sections." 1 J 1 1 On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; A es: Morgenstern, Branson, B reon, Ferm and Price (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4956.
