COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS
AUGUST 5, 1946
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 5, 1946. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
Breon, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 22, 1946, 1946, Regular Meet-
ing of July 29, 1946 and Special Meeting of July 29, 1946, were read and approved
as read.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1946 received as
follows:

Commissioner Simpson moved that application be approved and license granted
subject to approval of Food Inspector. Motion adopted.
Petitions were presented asking for the curbing and guttering of the following
streets:
Antrim Street from Ninth to Eleventh
Tenth Street from Antrim to Inez, and
Wilson Street from Sheridan to Merrill.
Petitions were referred to City Manager.
City Planning Commission reported favorable on the
following petitions:
For the rezoning of Lots 7, and 9, Block 3, Pacific Addition from "A"
Residential to "C" Commeric ial;
For the rezoning of Lots 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19, and 21, North Park
Addition from "C" Commercial to "E" Light Industrial.
Commissioner Simpson moved that report be adopted by the Board of Commissioners
and that the City Clerk be instructed to publish notice in the official City
paper that a public hearing will be granted to any persons interested in said
proposed changes or amendments at 7:30 o'clokc P. M. Monday, September 9, 1946
in the Commissioners' Meeting Room in the City Hall, Salina, Kansas. Motion
adopted.
City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition for the vacating
of the South 18 inches of Pacific Avenue between the East line of Third Street and
the west line of alley running north and south through Block 5, in Woodland Addi-
tion of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Simpson moved that action on same be held
over for one week. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution re-
lating to the paving and grading of Ohio Street from the south line of Iron Avenue
to the north line of Gypsum Avenue.',
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption -the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, Breon, Noyce and Simpson, (4) Naye: (0) Commissioner Moore absent.
Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 939.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 327 Resolution Book Number. 3.
A Resolution was introudeed for second reading entitled: "A Resolution re-
lating to the paving and grading of North Street from the east line of Fourth
Street to the East line of Arthur Street."

On motion of Commissioner Noyce the resolution was adopted as read and on
it final adoption the roll was called and the Dallowsng vote was had; Ayes:
1Irice, Breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent.
Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 940.

A comminication was presented from the Salina Lions Club asking tha,, Carnival
License fee be waived for the 4-H Club Fair to be held in Kenwood Park, August 28,2P
and 30, 1946. Granted.
Application Number 692 asking for building permit for the erection of a building
on Lots 5,6,7,8, Block 10, Depot Addition was presented from James J. Donelan.
Granted by Commissioner Simpson. Motion adopted.

An ordinanced was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for
the payment of certain claims".

On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, Breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-340.
r A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the issuance of
Temporary Note in the amount of $1,619.73."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayis: Price,
Breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is number 941.
