Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 10, 1946. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon,
Moore, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 3, 1946 were read and approved
i
as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as follows:
Cecil Garcia
Commissioner Moore moved that the application be approved and license be
granted. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of Lot 3, Block 12, River-
side Park Addition from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial. Petition was referred
to the City Planning Commission.
A request from the Johnson Brothers Construction Company for a permit to
build a 60 -foot addition onto the west side of the Nourse Oil Company structure
on Broadway, was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Illinois
Street between Sherman and Custer Streets. Petition referred to the City
j Manager.
A petition was presented asking for extension of sewer on Montrose Street from
present manhole south to Prescott Avenue. Petition was referred to the City
Manager.
Concrete Construction Maintenance Bond was presented from Edward H. Sherman.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Electrician's Bonds were presented from William G. Wolf and John E. Collett.
On motion of Commissioner Breon same were approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending the re-
zoning of the South 80 feet of the East 50 feet of Lot 12, in Surveyor's Plat 31
I from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial.
On motion of Commissioner Simpson report was approved by the Board of
Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice in the official
City paper that a public hearing will be granted to any persons interested in said
proposed changes or amendments, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Monday, July 15, 1946 in the
Commissioners' Meeting Room in the City Hall in Salina, Kansas; at which time
written protests as provided by law will be considered by the Board of Commissioners.
Motion adopted.
Letter was presented from the Salina Municipal Band relating to the appoint-
ment of Dr. F. W. Clark as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina
Municipal Band. Ordered filed.

Band contract for the year 1946 was presented, and on motion of Commissioner
Breon same was approved by the Board of Commissioners and the Mayor was author-
ized to sign name on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted.
Partial Estimate for Broom & Brown Construction Company, Inc. in the amount
of $1,027.65 for paving the alley east of Seventh Street from Ash Street to Elm
I
Street was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Simpson approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Partial estimate for H. J. Taylor Construction Company in the amount of
$8,136.22 for the curbing and guttering of certain streets in the City of Salina,
was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Simpson approved by the Board of
Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An Ordinance rat-
ifying and confirming a contract with Brown & Brown Construction Company, Inc. for
the repaving of a certain public alley in the City of Salina, and providing for
the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and
I sale of bonds." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An Ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taglor Construction Company
i for the construction of a certain storm sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore

designated as Storm Sewer No. 220, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An Ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company
for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements
on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance
of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of
bonds." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Breon moved that the City Manager meet the payroll of
June 15thp 1946. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution re-
lating to the curbing, guttering, and grading of Front Street from the north
line of North Street to the north line of Lincoln Street." Referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the south line of
Johnstown Avenue to the south line of Ash Street, and the curbing, guttering
paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to
the south line of Johnstown Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
