COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 200 1946
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 20, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore,
Price, Breon, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 13, 1946 were read and approved
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropria-
tion for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-328.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered A-329.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the
issuance of Temporary Note in the amount of 11054.76."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the reso-
lution and it is numbered 914.

Number 3.
A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of the South 80 feet of
East 50 feet of Lot 12, Surveyor's Plat "G" from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial.
Referred tot he City Planning Commission.
A protest was presented against the rezoning of Lot 6, Southview Addition
from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial Zone. Commissioner Price moved that lot be
not rezoned.

Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as

granted for day driving only. Motion adopted.

granted. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Breon moved that Anthony Berry be reinstated as a taxicab
driver in the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution providing for the
appropriation of certain real property for public (municipal) use."
On motion of C, issioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolu-
tion and it is numbered 915,

A letter was presented from the City Planning Commission relating to the
erection of temporary type dwellings in the City of Salina, Kansas. Same was
ordered filed.

City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition askingfor the
vacating of alley lying east of and adjacent to Lots 1 and 3 in Block 4, Pacific

Addition in the City of Salina. Commissioner Price moved that approval on same be
tabled for one week. Motion adopted.

City Engineer filed his approvalfor the construction of Lateral Sanitary
Sewer Number 208, located in the alley north of Ellsworth Street from Santa Fe
Avenue to Highland Avenue as follows:

To the Honorable Mayor and
Board of City Commissioners,
City of Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
The excavation, laying of pipe, backfilling and
grading of Sanitary Sewer Lateral 208 located in the
alley north of Ellsworth Street from Banta Fe to Highland,
constructed by the H. J. Taylor Construction Company,
Salina, Kansas, under contract dated April 8, 1946,
has been completed and final inspection made by this
office.
I have found that the work has been performed in
compliance with the plans and specifications of said
contract, and I reoommend that the work be accepted."

Commissioner Price moved that report be approved and work accepted by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate of Cost for the cost of constructing
Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 208, located in the alley north of Ellsworth
Street from Santa Fe Avenue to Highland Avenue. On motion of Commissioner
Price same was approved by the Board of Commission rs. Motion adopted.
Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 was presented from Clyde Idlson, for
the perpetual care of the North 1/2 of Lot 32, Block 1, in the ypsum Hill Ceme-
tery of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Price moved that Deed be approved by the
Board of Cc mmissioners and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the
deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by
Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Storm
Sewer Number 24, and on motion same were approved by the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer in
alley east of Fourth Street from Crawford Avenue to Bond Street. Same was
referred to the City Manager,
Commissioner Breon moved that bid presented from Wilson & Company, Engineers,
Salina., Kansas, for plans for Water Softening Plant be accepted. Motion a dopted.
On motion of Commissioner -Breon the Board of Commissioners.adjcurned.
