Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 18, 1946.
Meeting was called to order by Acting MayorPtice, the roll was called and Commis-
sioners Price, Breon and Noyce and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners
Moore and Simpson absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 11th, 1946 and Special
Meeting of February 11, 1946 were read and approved as read.

Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as
Lewis J. Webster
James K. Locke
Donald A. Pedersen
Ralph E. Walsh
On motion of Commissioner Breon applications were approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.

Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as
Gilbert J. Rhodenbaugh
On motion of Commissioner Breon application was held over for further
consideration. Motion adopted.
Oil and Gas Drillers Bond for Chas. W. Sheldon and R. R. Sheldon, in
the amount of $10;000.00 was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Breon approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application was presented from Chas. W. Sheldon and R. R. Sheldon for
permission to drill for oil and gas in the City of Salina, Kansas, well to be on
Lot 1, Surveyor's Plat No. 7, City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Breon moved
that permit be granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. j
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, Breon and Noyce (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Moore and
Simpson absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-317.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance arcking appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce he ordinance was read and adopted by !
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, Breon and Noyce (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Mobre and
Simpson absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-318.
City Planning Commissioner reported unfavorably on the petition asking
for the rezoning of Lots 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Block 17, Pacific Addition to "C" Com-
mercial District. Action deferred.
A remonstrance was presented protesting against the curbing, guttering
and paving of Grand Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Eighth Street. Remonstrance was
referred to the City Manager.
Application No. 424 asking for permit to erect a building on Lot 17, Block
63, Military Addition (1222 North Ninth Street) was presented from R. A. Schmidt.
Commissioner Breon moved that building permit be granted. Motion adopted.
