COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

JANUARY 24, 1946
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 24, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Acting Mayor Price the roll was called and Commissioners
Price, Breon and Noyce and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners Moore and
Simpson absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 14, 1946, Regular Meeting of
January 21, 1946 and Special Meeting of January 21, 1946 were read and approved as
read.

Application for Building Permit received from Cook's presented and action
onsame deferred for two weeks.
Application No. 391 asking for building permit, for the erection of a
building on Lot 1, Block 5, Woodland Addition, was presented from Wm, H. Long.
Commissioner Noyce moved that building permit be granted. Motion adopted.
Application No. 382 asking for building permit for the erection of a build-
ing on Lot 3, Block 1, Woodland Addition, was presented from Henry Jorg, Commis-
sioner Noyce moved that building permit be granted. Motion adopted.
Electrician's Municipal Bonds presented from:
Jack Jenezen, Sr. d/b/a Salina Neon & Electric Service
Allan M. Weaver and Wm. F. Dowling, d/b/a Weaver -Dowling Electric Co.
Commissioner Breon moved that Bonds be approved by the Board of Commission-
ers. Motion adopted.
City Engineer's Bond for Harold F. Harper was presented to the Board of
Commissoners, and on motion of Commissioner Noyce approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Motion adopted.
House Mover's Bond was presented from Thomas D. Dearing. Bond was re-
ferred to the City Attorney for approval.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Grand Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Eighth Street. Petition was referred to the
City Manager.
City Manager reported the appointment of Harold F. Harper as City Engineer,
to fill vacancy created by the resignation of Carl C. MacFarlane. Appointment was
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
granting the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, its successors and assigns, the
right to construct, reconstruct and maintain a standard gauge railroad track or
spur track, at grade thereof, over, upon and across North Fifth Street between
Lots Twenty-two (22) and Twenty-one (21) on Fifth Street in the Original Town of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and over, upon and across the North and South
alley between Lots Twenty -One (21) on Fifth Street and Twenty -Two (22) on Fourth
Street, both in the Original Town of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and providing
for the maintenance thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Price, Breon and Noyce (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Moore and Simpson
absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5137.
A communication was received from Chief of Police, Heyl, recommending the
revocation of Taxicab Drivers License No. 24 issued to Clinton Robert Lawson.
Commissioner Noyce moved that license be rejected. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was hada
Ayes: Price, Breon and Noyce (3) Nays (0) Commissioners Moore and Simpson
absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-312.
