COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING

JANUARY 2, 1946
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 2, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore,
Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 26, 1945 were read and approved
as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 were received

On motion of Commissioner Noyce applications were approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.

On motion of Commissioner Noyce applications were approved and license
granted for day driving only. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and creating a Department of Industrial Development; creating the
office of Director and setting out powers and duties of same."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5134.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating an Industrial Development Advisory Board and setting out its powers and
duties."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayess Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Rayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5135.
A Resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the transfer
of a certain amount of money from the City Clerk's Account to the City Treasurer's
Account."
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolu-
tion and it is numbered 894.

The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 280, Resolution Book Number

An ordinande was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to the fixing of the salaries of certain officers and employees of the
City of Salina and repealing Section 5 of Ordinance No. 5041." Ordinance was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitleds "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had= Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyoe, Price and Simpson (5) Nayss (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-311.
House Movers Bond was presented from Walter B. Carney and John W. Carney,
d/b/a Carney Brothers. Bond was referred to the City Attorney.
Mr. W. I. Boyd submitted his resignation as manager of the DeLuxe Cab
Company, to take effect January 3, 1946. Same was referred to t he City Manager.
The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of Tenth Street from
North Street to Lincoln; and for the paving of Tenth Street from Lincoln to Grand,
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Breon, Monday, January 21, 1946 at
7s3O o'clock P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting, at which time the reports
will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City
Clrk publish notice in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted.
On motion, a vote of thanks was extended to Carl S. Byers for his services
as C ity Attorney.
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
