12-26-1945 Minutesr-) r- c� ao COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 26, 1945 i Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 26, 1945. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, j Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. ; i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 17, 1945 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of paving Clark Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Spruce Street; the paving of Sheridan Street from the north line of Republic Avenue to the south line of WITson treet; for the curbing, guttering and paving i Hancock Street from the north line of Illinois Street to the north line of Venango Street; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Spruce Street from the west line of Clark Street to the east line of Missouri Pacific right-of-way; i for the paving of Spruce Street from the west line of Clark Street to the west line of College Avenue; and for the paving of Twelfth Street- from the north line of North Street to the south line of Linoo n Avenue, and, relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5131. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots j and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of paving j Spruce Street from the east line of College Avenue to the west line of Phillips treet in the City of Salina, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." I On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (05 Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5132. j Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1945 received as follows: Robert Dean Rose Commissioner Simpson moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance re- lating to and creating a Department of Industrial Development; creating the office of Director and setting out powers and duties of same." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. I i An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating an Industrial Development Advisory Board and setting out its powers and duties." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating an Industrial Development Advisory Board and setting out its powers and --- duties." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance limiting the time of parking of vehicles on the east side of Eighth Street between Walnut Street and the driveway south of the postoffioe, said driveway being the first driveway south of Iron Avenue." I On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted by j sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was --- had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered 5133. 1 Commissioner Price moved that the City Manager meet the Payroll of Deoem- ber 31, 1945.
