COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 3, 1945
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 3, 1945. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore,
Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner Breon
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 26, 1945 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1945 received
as follows:
Jack Robinson
Dale R. Musgrove
Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Fourth Street from Prescott to Crawford. Petition was referred to the City Manager.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had:
Ayes: Moore, 'rice, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Breon absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-306.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and
pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and
guttering Franklin Street from the west line of Sheridan Street to the east line
of Merrill Street; Franklin Street from the east line of Sheridan Street to the
west line of Custer Street; Front treet from the north line of Ash Street to
the south line of Elm Street; Kansas Avenue from the north line of Ash Street
to the south line of Elm Street; Kansas venue from a point 500 feet north of Elm
Street, north approximately 475 feet to the south line of Riverside Boulevard;
West Place from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Park Street;
Venango Street from the west line of Sheridan Street to the east line of Merrill
Street; and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess-
ments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
rek ting to the drilling for oil and gas within the limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
designatin- certain alleys as one way alleys providing for proper signs instructing
the public and regulating the time allowed to public in said alleys for loading and
unloading." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendment of Ordinance No. 3188 and adding certain areas to Class
"D" Light Industrial District as defined in Section 6 of said ordinance, and excludi=g
certain areas from "C" Commercial District as defined in Section 5 of said ordinance,
and excluding certain areas from "A" Residential District as defined by Section 3
of said ordinance." Ordinence was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
