11-26-1945 Minutes6) ? r-0 ►)46 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 26, 1945 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 26, 1945. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 19, 1945 were read and approved as read. Missouri Pacific Railroad Company asked permission to construct a spur track on Fifth Street to serve Johnson Brot'ers Construction Company. On motion the request was granted and City Attorney was in,tructed to prepare ordinance. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1945 received as follows: Eldridge E. Wilcox Ralph E. Priddy Clinton R. Lowson Leo R. Lambeth Commissioner Simpson moved that applications be approved and license i granted. Motion adopted. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1945 received as follows: Jack R. Robinson Charles J. Mallon Commissioner Noyce moved that applications be rejected by the Board of Com- missioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced " c for second reading entitled: An ordinance i extending the fire limits of the City of Salina as defined in Section #lof Ordinance #3040 and Section #1 of Ordinance #4579, being Sections 11-101 and 11-102, respect- ively, Rev. Ordinances of 1939." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5125. i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for grading and paving of 10th Street from north line of North Street to the north line of Grand Avenue, in the Cityof Salina, for a width of 331 with 6" reinforced concrete, and from North line of Lincoln Avenue to south line of Grand Avenue for a width of 31' with 6" reinforced concrete, and for curbing, guttering and grading of 10th Street from north line of North Street to north line of Lincoln Avenue, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the costs thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner -Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted by seo- tions and on its final adoption the roll was celled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5126. City Engineer submitted his approval for'the curbing, guttering constructed by the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas, under contract dated June i 11, 1945 as follows: Salina, Kansas. i November 24, 1945 To the Hon. Mayor and Board of City Commissioners, { City of Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The excavating, grading, curbing and guttering constructed by the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas, under contract dated June 11, 1945, Job No. 21C -has been completAd and a final inspection has been made by this office. I have found that all work has been performed and completed in compliance with the plans and specifications of said contract. Claim in the amount of $1476.48 was presented from the H. J. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for the curbing and guttering Fren kl in Street Franklin Street Front Street Kansas Avenue Kansas Avenue Venango Street West Place Merrill to Sheridan Sheridan to Custer Ash to Elm Ash to Elm Elm to Riverside Boulevard Sheridan to Merrill Park to Elm On motion of Commissioner Breon same were approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. Motion adopted. No one appeared to protest against the removing from "C" Commercial District all of Lots 31 to 45 inclusive in Block 1, North Park Addition, to Class "D" Light Industrial; and by removing from "C" Commercial District all of Lots 2,4,6,8,10,12, 14 and 16 on Twelfth Street, in Weaver's Second Addition to Class "D" Light Industrial. City Attorney was instructed to prepare ordinance. Commissioner Price moved that City Manager be authorized to meet the Payroll of November 30, 1945. Motion adopted.
