The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 23, 19{45 were read and approved as I City Planning Commission reported unfavorably on he petition asking for the re -zoning of Lot 11, Block 13, Pacific Addition from Res dential Zone to Light In- dustrial Zone. Commissioner Simpson moved that peti ion be referred back to the City Planning Commission. Motion adopted. lows: Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1945 received as fol - Elmer Chase A. L. Stonebraker a6 1 Commissioner Simpson moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Eleventh Street from Pacific to Harsh (900 Block). Petition was referred to the City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley east of Fourth Street from Pacific Avenue north to Euclid Avenue. Petition was referred to the City Manager. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 was presented from Dr. J. H. Guyton, for the perpetual care of the north one-half of Lot 8, B ock 12, in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Breon, Trust Deed was a proved by the Board of Com- missioners and the City Treasurer was,instructed to placa the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by 0 dinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. i A petition was presented, protesting against the ceeping of goats in the w City of Salina. Petition was referred to the City Mana er to be placed on file. An ordinance was introduced for second reading en itled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Ordinance No. 3188 and adling certain areas to "D" Light Industrial District as defined in Section 6 of sai Ordinance, and excluding certain areas from "B" residential and "C" Commercial di trict as defined in Sections 4 and 5 of said Ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5093. i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the amendment of Ordinance No. 3188 and adds certain areas to "Class "C" f Commercial District, as defined in Section 5 of said Ordinance, and excluding certain areas from the "A" residential district as defined in Se tion 3 of said ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5094. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitleds "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Com truction Company for the construction of a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 202 so created, providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, designating Lateral Sanitary Sewer District as No. 204, so created, providing for the cost thereof a nd for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commis- sioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 205, so created, pro- viding for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering Franklin Street Franklin Street from Sheridan Front Street from Ash to Elm, from Ash to Elm, Kansas Avenue Venango Street from Sheridan West Place north of Elm to Riverside Boulevard, were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Breon, Monday, August 20, 1945 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting, at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law.
