JULY 23, 1945
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 23, 1945. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon,
Novoe and Price and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner Simpson absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 16, 1945 and Adjourned Meeting of
July 17, 1945 were ead and approved as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1945 received as
follows:

Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted
for day driving only. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of Lot 11, Block 13, Pacific
Addition from residential zone to Light Industrial Zone. Petition was referred
to the City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented against the unsanitary condition on Decatur Street
between Eighth and Ninth Streets. The matter was referred to the City Manager.
A letter was received from the City Planning Commission submitting certain
recommendations which are the result of the experiences, observations and studies
of the City Planning Commission. Letter was ordered filed.
City Manager reported favorable on the petition asking for a sewer between
Chicago Street and Olive Street from State Street to Marietta Street. On motion
of Commissioner Breon report was adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and the
City Attorney instructed to prepare the necessary ordinance. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendment of.Ordinance No. 3188 and adding certain areas to "D"
Light Industrial district as defined in Section 6 of said Ordinance, and excluding
certain areas from "B" residential and "C" Commercial district as defined in
Sections 4 and 5 of said ordinance." Ordinance was referred to the Board of
Commis sions rs.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendment of Ordinance No. 3188 and adding certain areas to
Class "C" Commercial District, as defined in Section 5 of said Ordinance, and
excluding certain areas from the "A" residential district as defined in Section 3 of
said ordinanc e." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with The H. J. Taylor Construction Company
for the construction of a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sanitary
Sewer District No. 202, so created, providing for the cost thereof and for the levy-
ing of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment
of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
