06-18-1945 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEET IM COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 18, 1945 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 18, 1945. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner Simpson absent, of the Regular Meeting of June 11, 1945 were read and approved An ordinance w as introduced for second reading entitleds "An ordinance granting to Union Pacific Railroad Company, its successors and assigns, the right to extend, construct, maintain and operate certain switch tracks in Fourth Street and across Walnut Street, in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayess Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (4) Nayss (0) Commissioner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5090. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nayss (0) Commissioner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-284. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Nouce the ordinance was reed and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (4) NaysL (0) Commissioner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-285. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-286. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the issuance of Temporary Notes in the amount of $2358.84 and $982.15." On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as readsnd on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Pftoe (4) Nayss (0) Commissioner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 880. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 266, Resolution Book Number 3. No one appeared before the Board of Commissioners to protest against the re -zoning of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10, in Block 6, Pacific Addition, including portions of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, Bend 10, originally included in Block 6, Reimold's Military Replat, from "B" Residential and "C" Commercial to "D" Light Industrial. City Attorney was instructed to prepare ordinance providing for the re -zoning of the above named property. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Charles Street from the west line of Phillips Street to the east line of Montrose Avenue," Resolution was - referred tothe Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Arthur Avenue from the north line of North Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue. Motion adopted. i j Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1432, asked perm aeion to transfer Beer License Number 8308 from 122 South Seventh Street to 14 South Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Breon moved that permission be granted. M tion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading a titled: "An ordinance providing for the condemning of an easement in the East 15 feet of Lot 5, Block 19, Pacific Addition, for the purpose of oonstructing, maintaining, repairing and replacing a Lateral Sanitary Sewer through Lot 5, Block 19, Pacifio Addition." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was hadz Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commis: oner Simpson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5091. Commissioner Price moved that the Mayor be authorized to sign 1945 Salina Municipal Band Contract, on behalf of the City of SalinL, Kansas. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Com aissioners adjourned.
