JOKE 4, 1945 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 4, 1946, Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon, Noyoe, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers -responded, read. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 28, 1945 were read and approved as Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1945 received as followss Mrs. Ray L. Hollinger Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted. Vernon A. Hite Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the paving of Spruce Street from the east line of College avenue to the west line of Phillips Avenue in the City of Salina, for a width of 271 with 6" oonorets; and providing for the cost thereof and how same shall be assessed and the manner of payment thereof." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayess Moore, Breon, Noyes. Price and Simpson (6) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5086. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitleds "An ordinance creatig and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 202, so created, providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said District for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes s Moore, Breon, Noyes, Price and Simpson (5) Nayss (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5087. An ordinance was introduced entitleds "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (6) Nayss (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-283. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitleds "An ordinance ratify- ing and oonfiruing a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for construction of certain curbing, and guttering improvements on Hest Placa from Park to Elm; Kansas Avenue from Ash to Elms Kansas Avenue from a point 500 feet north of Elm toi verside Drive; Franklin Avenue from Sheridan to Custer: Franklin Avenue from Sheridan to Merrill; Front Streat from Ash to Elms and Venango Street from Sheridan to Merrill; and providing or the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitleds "An ordinance relating to and regulating taxicabs and taxicab fares and amending Section 28, of Ordinance No. 4952 as amended by Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5008, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 5017, as amended by Ordinance No. 5026 and 5059, and repealing said original section as amended." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commission- ers. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of North Street from Front street to Second Street. Referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of Front street from North to Lincoln. Grosser, Jr. to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable for the cost of curbing and guttering the following streets Franklin Street from Sheridan to Merrill; Franklin Street from Sheridan to Custer; Front Street from Ash Street to Elm Street; Kansas Avenue from Ash Street to Elm Street; Kansas Avenue from a point 500 feet north of Elm to Riverside Drive; Venango Street from Sheridan to Merrill; West Plaoe from Elm to Park Street. Commissioner Breon moved that appointments be confirmed by the Board of Com- missioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted his approval for the oMistruation of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 201 as follows: Salina, Kansas. May 81, 1945 To the Hon. Mayor and Board of City Commissioners, City of Salina, Kansas. Gentlemens The excavating, laying of pipe, baokf gradin=, of sanitary sewer lateral No. 201 in t on Front Street from North Street south appros feet constructed by the H. J. Taylor Construct Salina, Kansas, under contract dated April 9, nanoe No. 5077, has been completed and a fins. been made by this office.
