05-14-1945 Minutes1 C 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SAL A, KANSAS. MAY 34, 1945 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners Ma 14, 1945. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 8, 194 were read and approved as read. Commissioner Noyce moved that the matter of rezoning Lots 1, 3 and 5 on Ninth Street, and the East l/ of Lot 13, on Crawford Avefue, Seitz Second Addition, from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial, be tabled for sixty days from this date. Motion adopted. A letter was presented from Herman R. Anderson, xecutive Secretary of Salina Office of Civilian Defense as now set up by City Ordin 10e, requesting the Board of Commissioners to discontinue the Salina Office of Ci ilian Defense. Commissioner Breon moved that the Salina Officec}f Civilian Defense be discon- tinued. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the extensior of a sanitary sewer from Otis t o Euclid between Fourth and Fifth Streets. Pet iti on was referred to t he City Manager and City Engineer. Application for taxicab drivers license for the ear 1945 received as follows: Paul W. Tyler Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the canstruc ion of a sanitary sewer, also curbing and guttering North Street from Front Stre t to Arthur Street. Petition was referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. City Planning Commission reported favorable on the petition asking for the rezoning of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 in Block 6, Pacific Addition, and portion of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 originally included in Block 6, Reimold's Military Replat, from "B" Residential and "C" Commercial to "D" Light Industrial-. On motion of Commissioner Simpson report was accepted by the Board of Com- missioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice in the Salina Journal, of public hearing to be granted to any persons interested insaid proposed changes and amendments at eight o'clock P. M. on Monday, June 18, 1945, in the Commission._re Meeting Room in the City Hall, Salina, Kansas, at which time written protests, as provided by law, will be considered by the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for second reading a titled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Twelfth Street from the north line of North Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approve the resolution and it is numbered 875. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 258, Resolution Book Number 3. A petition was presented authorizing the Bus Company to extend the present route to Country Club Heights on through the Addition over the following route: East on Crestview Drive to Fairdale, thence southeast to Overhill Road, thence west to Greenway Road, thence northwesterly direction on Greenway to Crestview Drive, and on west on Iron Avenue. Commissioner Breon moved that Petition be granted. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the curbing end guttering of Seventh Street from Lincoln to Decatur. Petition was referred to the City Manager and City Engi- neer. On motion of Commissioner Price the City Manager was authorized to meet the Payroll of May 15, 1945. Motion adopted.
