Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 8, 1945. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and ommissioners Moore, Breon,
Noyce, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers respond d.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 30, 945 and Regular Meeting
of May 7, 1945 were read and approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1945 received as fol-
lows:

On motion of Commissioner Breon applications wer� approved and license grant-
ed. Motion adopted.
Application Number 181 was presented from Perryller, d/b/a Fuller Auto
Salvage, asking for permission to erect a temporary offi a building on the West 250
feet of Block 1, Golden Belt Sub -Division of Salina, Kan as (501 East Pacific).
Commissioner Price moved that permission be granted. otion adopted.
Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Jou 1 bid was received for the
construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 203, between Tenth and Eleventh
Streets from Grand to Lincoln, as follows:

Kansas.
City Engineers Estimate of Cost for the above sewer
was read.

Bid was tabulated by the City Engineer.
Commissioner Price moved that bid received from if.
Company be accepted and that awarding of contract be deferred.

Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering and gradin of Fra
lin Street from the west
line of Sheridan Street to the east line of Merrill Stre
t; Franklin Street from
the east line of Sheridan Street to he west line of Cust
r Street; Front Street
from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of E
Street; Kansas Avenue
from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of E
m Street; Kansas Avenue
from a point 500 feet north of Elm Street, north approxi
tely 475 feet to the
south line of Riverside Boulevard; West Place from the
outh linty of Elm Street
to the north line of Park Street; Venango Street from t
e west line of Sheridan
Street tothe east line of Merrill Street; and providing
or the cost bf;suc]T improve-
ments and how the same shall be assessed and the manner
f payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance Was
read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5)
Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5081.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the
construction of a certain lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral
Sanitary Sewer District
Number 201, in the City of Salina, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes
to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale o
bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayess
Mo -ore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0)
Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is numbered 5082.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A Resolution
ordering laying of water, gas and sewer connections on Clark
Street from 1Nalnut to
Spruce in the City of Salina,"
On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution W8,s
adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Moore,
Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the resolution and
it is numbered 873.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Spruce Street from the west line
of Clark Street to -the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad right-of-way, and
for the paving of Spruce Street from the west line of College Avenue to the west
line of Clark Street.
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the resolution was read and adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce, Price and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the resolution and it is numbered 874.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 257, Resolution Book Number
3.
City Manager Allison recommended the paving of Twelfth Street from North
Street to Lincoln.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution re-
lating to the paving of Twelfth Street from the north line of North Street to the
south line of Lincoln Avenue. Resolution was referred to the Board of Commis-
sioners.
On motion of Commissioner Price the County Commissioners were authorized
to use the Longfellow School Building for a detention home until such time when
the City of Salina wish to occupy said building for a Fire Station. Motion
adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
