04-30-1945 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 300 1945 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 30, 1945. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Moore, the roll was called and Commissioners Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner Simpson absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting approved as read. 1945 were read and The matter of rezoning Lots 1, 3 and 5 on Ninth Street and the east one-half of Lot 13 on Crawfod Avenue, in Seitz Second Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, from "A" residential to "C" Commercial was taken up by the Board of Commissioners, and Commissioner Price moved that action on same be deferred until the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, May 7, 1945. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab follows$ for the year Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and day driving only. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the paving of Twelfth Street from North Street to Lincoln Avenue. Petition was referred to the City Manager and City Engineer., A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer in alley between Fourth ani Fifth Streets from Pacific to Otis Avenue. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitleds "A Resolution laying of water, gas and sewer connections on Clark Street from Walnut in the City of Salina." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitleds "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of S ruse Street from the west side of C3mrk Street to the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad Right-of-way; and for the paving of Spruce Street from the west line of College Avenue tot he west line of ClarkStreet." Referred to t he Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitleds "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 201, in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of all of Lots 1,2,3, 6,8, and 10, Block 6, Pacific Addition to the City of Salina, including the portions of Lots 1,2,3,4,6,8 and 10 originally included in Block 6, of Reimold's Military Replat, from "B" Residential and "C" Commercial to "D" Light Industrial. Petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. The matter of using the Longfellow School Building for a Fire Station, was taken up by the Board of Commissioners, and the City Manager was instructed to notify the Board of Education of the acceptance of the offer made by them. Motion adopted. c) of r An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the curbing, guttering and grading of Frankl n Street from the west line of Sheridan Street to he east line of Merrill Stre t; Frank in Street from the east line of Sheridan Street to the west line of CusterStreet; Front Street from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street; Kansas Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street; Kansas Avenue j from a point BUO feet north of Elm Street, north approx mately 475 feet to the south line of Riverside Boulevard; West Place from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Park Street; Ven�an oo Street from the west line of Sheridan fj Street to the east line of MerrilltS reet; aNd—providing and—providingfor the cost of such improvements -nd how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read And adopted by see - tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Moore, Breon, Noyce and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Simpson absent.
