Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Breon, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. Commis- sioner Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 12, 1945 and Regular Meeting March 19th, 1945 were read and approved as read. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley between Tenth and Eleventh from Lincoln Petition was referred to the City Manager. Application for as follows: License for the year 1945 received GENERAL RETAILER CLASS "B" CORPORATION ----------------------- Application Number Name of Applicant American'Legion Name and Location of Place of Business American Legion Post #62 122 North Fifth Street Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted, food inspection. Motion adopted. Applications 1945 received as Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted. Petition was presented from Seitz Brothers Investment Company and Nellie Seitz, asking for the rezoning of Lots 1, 3 and 5 on Ninth Street, and the east 1/2 of Lot 13, on Crawford Avenue, in Seitz Second Addition, being a replat of part of Surveyor's Plat 10, City of Salina, Kansas, from "A" Residential and "C" Commercial Zone. Referred to the City Planning Commission. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-273. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morge stern, Breon, Price and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-274. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the issuance of Temporary Notes in the amount of $397.85; $1823.25, $3864.95." On motion of Commissioner Simpson the resolution was adopted as on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Morgenstern, Breon, Price and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 868. Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading ent tleds "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, gutter inr and grading Kansas Avenue from a point 500 feet north of Elm Street, north approximately 475 feet to the south line of Riverside Boulevard. Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, designatbd-as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 201 so created, providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of bftch construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor."
