COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING

FEBRUARY 19, 1945
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 19, 1945. Meeting
was called to order by Acting Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners
Price, Breon, Moore and Simpson and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner
Morgenstern absent,

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 12, 1945 were read and approved
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1945 received as fol -

Commissioner Moore moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Mausoleum Deed for the sale of Crypts numbered 436 and 439, to Gladys C.
Smither, was presented to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner
Moore same was approved by the Board of Commissioners and the acting Mayor was
authorized to sign deed on behalf of the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its finals, doption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgen-
stern absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-269.

On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read'and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was

Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-270.
Application Number 146, asking for permission to remodel building located
on the West l/ of Lot 42, Block 1, Van.Trine's Addition to the City of Salina,
Kansas, was received from Vernold E. Peterson. Commissioner Breon moved that
special permit be granted. Motion adopted.
City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for paving Park Street from
Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks east to exist Ting pavement, and on motion the same
f was approved by the Board of Commissioners.

City Engineer submitted his approval for the paving of Park Street from
the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks east to existing brick pavement as follows:
Salina, Kansas.
February 14, 1945
To the Honorable Mayor and
Board of Commissioners,
City of Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
The excavating, grading and paving of Park Street,
from the Missouri Pacific R. R. Tracks east to the existing
brick pavement constructed by the H.J.Taylor Construction
Company, Salina, Kansas, under contract dated January 16, 1945
and Ordinance No. 5073, has been completed and a final in-
spection has been made by this office.
I have found that the work has been performed and com-
pleted in compliance with the plans and specifications of said
contract.
Therefore, I recommend that the work be accepted.

Commissioner Breon moved that report be approved by the Board of Com-
missioners and that work be accepted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
