COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 26, 1944
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 28, 1944.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Com-
missioners Morgenstern, Moore, Price and Simpson and City Attorney Byers
responded. Commissioner Breon absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 18, 1944 and Special
Meeting of December 18, 1944 were read and approved as read.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of cost
for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 199 located in Haacock Street
from venango Street to Republic Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Price plans and specifications for the con-
struction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 199,w ere approved by the Board of
Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for such
improvements to be received up to and including Monday, January 8, 1945 at 7:30
P. M. Motion adopted.
Mr. F. D. Kastner submitted his resignation as a member of the Waterworks
Advisory Board. Commissioner Moore moved that resignation be accepted by the
Board of Commissionerse nd the City Manager was requested to write Mr. Kastner,
expressing the City Commissioners appreciation for his services rendered to the
City of Salina as a member of the Waterworks Advisory Board. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Moore moved that the Mayor issue a proclamation notifying
all citizens to keep all dogs in the City from running at large up to and including
February 1, 1945. Motion adopted.
City Manager was authorized to meet the Payroll of llecember 31, 1944.
On motion of Commissioner Price the purchase of one New Tractractor and
one Hydraulic controlled Loader Dozer attachment, for the Garbage and Rubbish
Removal Department, was authorized. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for such grading and excavation as may be necessary and paving Park
Street from the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks east approximately 45of et to
join existing brick paving with 6 -inch reinforced concrete; and providing for the
costs thereof and how the same shallbe assessed and the manner of payment thereof."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned
to meet in Regular Session, Tuesday, January 2nd, 1945 on account of Monday,
January 1, being a legal holiday.
