COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 25, 1944
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 25, 1944. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price and City Attorney Byers responded. Commis-
sioner Moore absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 18, 1944 and Adjourned
Meeting of September 20, 1944 were read and approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as
follows s

Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved by the Board of
Commissioners and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab license for 1944 received as follows:

Commissioner Elliott moved that application be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
A communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce Industrial Com-
mittee in reference to tax levy for the creation of an industrial fund. Ordered
filed.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitleds "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Eighth Street from Hamilton
Street to Antrim Street."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent.
Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 858.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 240, Resolution Book
Number 3.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Venango
Street from Sheridan Street to Merrill Street. Petition was referred to the City
Manager.
An ordinanoe was introduced for first reading entitleds "An ordinance
creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts in the City of
Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 196 and 197 so created,
and providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments
against the property in said district for the payment of such construction and
for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Elliott the City Manager was authorized to meet
the Payroll of September 30, 1944. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
