Adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 20, 1944. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Mor-
genstern, Elliott, Moore and Price and City Attorney Byers responded. Commissioner
Breon absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 11, 1944 were read and approved
as read.
Building Application No. 98 was received from Wm. Hansen, asking permission
to build a storage, garage and warehouse on Lots 90, 92 and 94 on Ninth Street,
Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University. Commissioner Elliott moved that application
be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as
follows:

Commissioner Price moved that application be rejected by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
a On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayess Morgenstern, Elliott, Moore and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Breon
absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-251.
An ordinance was introduced entitleds "An ordinance making appropriation for

On motion of Commissioner Elliott the ordinance was read and adopted by see -
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was hads

A petition was presented asking for the ourbing and guttering of Seventh
i Street from the north line of Grand Avenue to the south line of Woodland Avenue.
Petition was referred to the City Manager.
Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 was received from Mrs. Frank L. Low
for the perpetual care of the North 1/2 of Lot 12, Block 1, in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery
of Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Price moved that Trust Deed be accepted by the Board of Commis-
' sioners and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum
Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number 3550 of the
City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced -for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Eighth Street from HtmittohhStteetofo
Auttit-Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Contract between the City of Salina, Kansas and the Salina Municipal Band,
dated January 1, 1944, for services of the band for 1944, as recommended for approval
by the Trustees of the Salina Municipal Band was presented and read. Commissioner
t Moore moved that the contract to take effect January 1, 1944, be approved by the
i BM d of Commissioners and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract on behalf of
the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Moore the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
