COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 8, 1944.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 8, 1944. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Moore and City Attorney Byers responded. Com-
missioner Price absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Msy 1, 1944 were r ead and approved as
read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as
follows:

Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted.

Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1944 received as

Motion adopted.
A petition was presented from Frank L. Eberhardt, asking for the vacating
and closing of alley lying between Third Street and Fourth Street, from the south
bank of the Smoky Hill River Mouth tothe south line of Lot 127 on Fourth Street
and Lot 128 on Third Street. Petition was referred tothe City Planning Commis-
sion.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the ourbing, guttering and grading of Claflin Avenue from the west line
of Ninth Street, west approximately 1016 feet tothe west line of Lot 1% Block 1,
Evergreen Park Addition; Merrill Street from the south line of Nilson Street to the
north line of Republic Avenue; Pershing treat from the south line of Jervell
Avenue to the north line of Kir d -n Avenue; North s ide of Republic Avenue from
the west line of Sheridan Street tothe east line of Hancock Btreetj Spruce Street
from the west line of College Avenue to the east line of the Missouri Pacific
Railroad right-of-way; and Spruce Street from the east line of College Avenue
to the west line of Phillips Street; and providing for the cost of such improve-
ments and how the same shall b e assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitleds "A resolution
relating to the ourbing, guttering and gradin. of Eleventh Street from the
south line of Grand Avenue to the north line of Lincoln Street. Resolution was
referred tothe Board of Commissions.
